So persistent trying to figure how the picture fits
Perspective meant a lot, shift around and view it different
Too scared of life to ever need the crutch of superstition

Hoping I could soak up wisdom given swift appraisal
This was back when CD players were a luxury
Ghostbusters soundtrack, playing and I’m running free
What a scene, the trampoline I got the scars from
That milk crate that took a chunk of my shin

My medicine is flows with the drums that begin

I love connecting words and never pacifying brains

No real remorse for schemers seeking status recent
I’m at a region where my values aren’t the same as power brokers
So I paint with louder quotes and hope I found the voters
The ones who care to change, or even bother, where are they
some chasing errant strays as the peril stays
I tell my sons, life isn’t fair but they’ve still got to try
Do what they can to help each other while the awful fly
Recognize the reach of leading by example
And stand up for what you believe in even the handful
Make sure to pick your spots, not everyone will want to hear
Cause some who a claim a god to fear, will plot demonic leers
There’s what is said, and what is done, you’d better watch it close
Learn what’s around you and adjust a touch to spot the host
