It's About Time

about

I wrote this song because I always feel like I'm in a rush. In the moments I slow down enough to realize the level of stress this state brings me, I wonder why I feel compelled to relentlessly push forward. Naturally, I quickly forget about it and five heading back into that same storm.

lyrics

I’m exhibiting a visitor’s inquisitiveness
A new pair of eyes to pick up all the bits that can drift
Cause sometimes
A lack of sleep is sapping my abilities
Once I’m
Falling, I reactivate the will to seek
We have a way of forgetting what does surround us
Soon kingdoms we chase are rendered to brown dust
Surrender an ounce of the rush I put myself in
And ask why I violently go into hell’s spin
A rage to melt limbs wrestling the clock’s hands
Replace compelled grins, dancing in the hot sand
Broken glass plus coals to rake myself over
Too busy to reach when hate is held closer
A painted pelt signifying that the game concludes
head and pillow and the drain ensues
A maze of clues to replay in dreamscape
DNA-lysis breaking down the weight of each trait
Used to be a bible of the world’s cliches
But knowing the words isn’t singing the song

Why
Do
I
Keep going fast like something is poison inside
I
Will
Die
And all I can do in the meantime is live my life
When
I’m
Gone
There’s no redo that can bring me back
So I
Sing
My
Song
And if you’re so inclined, feel free to sing along with the track

Watch the capabilities increase as time dwindles
Giving you a bric a brac of vivid rap to dive into
I’ve been through life’s sinew, driving a knife, Ginsu
My tradition a rhyming mission, visit vibes with you
Size 52 extravagance extravaganza
The happy rapper writing slaps with a panda
Pandemonium, Fort Wayne to whatever home you’re in
b-boys and girls getting down on old linoeleum
Duct tape covering the tears, what has been repaired
I’m one of the others, set to mutter, grin and stare
Some are talented in such ways so I appreciate it
So i relax in a comfy chair and kick the cadence
Showing Love is showing up, maybe soon we grow enough
Helping others when the need arises, and so it does
The value of community is my reassurance
After all my dealings with so many thieving cheats and vermin

I try to have negative space, but I want to fill it
Did you hear that ghost in my haunted village
Can I draw one picture with a sonnet illest
Anabolic, visiting a solemn stillness
Did you hear that S fade
Each son headed to the next grade
I love the rhythm and I’m caught within the trap it makes
Extrapolating rapid facts and that’s an act of grace
and who started this race?
some carnival farce of a maze
And the rest of the circus is marching away
As the breath, it disperses in darkening day
There goes that sun
And I sit here cogent of a frozen tongue
It was said someday we shall overcome
May rope not be what my hope becomes
