I wrote a long verse on the back of an envelope, recorded it acapella then played one random object at a time along to the vocals. The more I think about this track, the more I see it as this album's equivalent of Velcro Sneakers-an exploration of language's musicality in a non-traditional format. Brenn from Left Lane Cruiser came over and banged on a storage shelf and I spent the next day sequencing the pieces. I can't remember all noisemakers, but the list included a pill bottle, a whisk, a knife, a flashlight, a shoe, a phone book, and a fork. I can't say for sure, but the Pabst Blue Ribbon reference might have prompted Brenn's participation.
lyrics
The river driven rhythm I'm delivering will rivet them
defense is stifling, disciple with the discipline
laundry's undone, I've got to run
catch up to thoughts on the tip of my tongue
rapping is raw, wicked vivid, you're numb
tapping your jaw, scissor kick of the gum
come get within the span of my soundwave smackdown
act out fantasies, all panicky, you're wack now
fat sounds thinning every thug dream blood stream
cash cow, bleed it to the bank, what it must mean
plus we must be better than the average
at a higher standard when the banter is established
Pabst Blue Ribbon and a tattoo'd kitten
with a snafu hidden in the back, stat
ask who hit it with a fast food gimmick
and a mask, true fitted is it fact, that
guy with a one of a kind mind designed this
vibes with the wonderous hi-fi surprises
hide in a number of tie dyes, you're spineless
defining divine intertwined with a crisis
I'm standing here on my own two
rime cannon, fear in a phone booth
no need to change, I proceed deranged
for foes meet the grave and don't speak for days
provoke beef and blaze with no teeth, amazed
nosebleed parades for Bo Peep brigades
I'm grazing Grey's Anatomy and making it red
from day to day I'm made at me with vacant regret
flavor tasted is death so now I'm looking for the mouthwash
done everything I can here but count off
1, 2, 3 it's a song
Fort Wayne Hip-Hop representing a bond
Started following Juga-Naut upon hearing him break down life and rap relating to Kool G Rap on Crate808 and I've been a fan since. Wordplay, skill, the dope backdrops, what's not to love? Sankofa
